  • Wow!  It has been over a month since I last updated.  I am a Facebook addict so, I rarely go on xanga anymore!

June 20, I had back surgery-a laminectomy-to relieve pressure on nerves and to remove part of a bulge.  The recovery has been slow and very BORING!!  I have basically been in bed for the last 2 1/2 weeks.  I can only sit for 30 min. at a time then I have to stand up or lay down.  AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!  Thank goodness for John's laptop....I would really be crazy if I didn't have this computer to keep me busy!  Speaking of John....he has be AWESOME during this whole thing.  He has taken 2 weeks vacation (what a fun vacation!!) to take care of the boys and I.  He has done a really good job keeping the house clean, taking care of the boys, doing misc. projects and listening to all my moaning and groaning!!!  The boys have been really good through all this, too.  I think they're getting pretty sick of the whole thing and are ready for me to get back to normal (as am I!)  My mom has been a super duper helper for me....I don't think I would have survived without her....she sat with me at the hospital when I was in the worst pain in my life, encouraged me with pt/ot at the hospital, cleaned my bathrooms, changed sheets, vacuumed, watched the boys and much, much more.  Thanks mom!!  Sister and David watched Gonzo for us while I was in the hospital and for the first few days after I got home.  Sister also arranged for meals-which has been great!  Thanks, Sister!!  Ok...I am not going to thank anyone else because I will forget people.  If you have done anything to help our family during this time....THANK YOU!!!!!!

Ok...it's 6:20 am and I need to try to get back to sleep.  I was having muscle spasm so I needed to get up and take something for that.

  • Prayer request....

This is from the Steven Curtis Chapman website:

"Maria Sue Chapman, adopted and youngest daughter to Mary Beth and Steven Curtis Chapman, was killed Wednesday night in a tragic accident in the family driveway on Wednesday evening. She was LifeFlighted to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital but for only reasons God can explain she went home to Him... not to Franklin as we all so desperately wanted.

Your prayers are needed for all in the Chapman family. This is a family who has so generously loved and given to so many. Just hours before this close knit family was celebrating the engagement of the oldest daughter Emily Chapman, and were just hours away from a graduation party marking Caleb Chapman's completion of high school. Now, they are preparing to bury a child who blew out 5 candles on a birthday cake less than 10 days ago. These words are unthinkable to type. - Jim Houser (Manager)"

*I guess that one of their son's was pulling in the driveway and didn't see Maria playing and ran her over with the car....I can't even begin to imagine.

  • It has been one week since my last RF procedure and I am beginning to feel a little bit of relief.  I am still having pain, it's just not as bad as it was before the procedure.  I'm crossing my fingers that they got the right spot this time.  I'm ready to be back to "normal".  I'm sick of not being able to do the things that I enjoy doing and the things that I need to do.

On a totally different note....Connor decided yesterday that he was going to go potty on the potty.  He is so funny....he went potty about 50 times yesterday.  He did so good.  I had to run to Meijer and he wanted to go with me.  I told him we needed to put a pull up on if he wanted to go to the store.....there was no way he was putting a pull up on.  He says he only wears underpants.  So, I gave in and took him with only underpants on.  We made it to the store and home with no accidents!  I couldn't believe it.  I was a nervous wreck the whole time (and I asked him if he needed to go potty about 100 times) but, we made it!!  I can't believe my baby isn't a baby anymore.  Since he gave up his ba-ba (2 weeks ago today), he has grown up so much.  He just seems so much older.  Now he's going potty...oh my gosh!!!

Ok....about Logan.  He has a very wiggly tooth.  He is so funny!  He wants it to fall out but, he's afraid for it to fall out.  If he works on it, it will be out in the next couple days.  The Tooth Fairy will come and we'll all be happy!
